Greeters – EN

Another English word….
Once again, a phenomenon straight out of the USA. The idea of Greeters was born in 1992 in New York when Lynn Brooks launched the “Big Apple Greeters”.

Who are they?

As we all know, the best way to discover a destination is to meet its inhabitants. Greeters are therefore volunteers who, according to their desires, share their surroundings with you. The meeting will take the form of an informal chat over a coffee or a stroll, during which the greeters will reveal how they live and love their corner of Normandy.

Their values?

Greeters are volunteers who present themselves as a friendly face to the visitor(s), welcoming individuals and groups of up to 6 people.

Meeting a Greeter is entirely free of charge, and Greeters welcome everyone, visitors and volunteers alike, without discrimination.

Greeter networks are part of a sustainable tourism approach that respects the environment and people. They contribute to the cultural and economic enrichment of local communities, and to the positive image of the destination.

Greeter networks promotemutual enrichment and cultural exchange between individuals for a better world.

As a Greeter, I'm passionate about meeting people, enjoying nature and discovering new horizons. My main aim is to share friendly, authentic moments with visitors, while helping them discover the cultural and natural riches of my region. Deeply attached to this territory, which I know like the back of my hand, I'm a passionate walker and horse rider, and I'll take you to Rives-en-Seine and the Brotonne forest.

Véronique

I've lived in Lillebonne for over 20 years. After many walks, I've discovered many different sites. Situated between 2 major cities, Le Havre and Rouen, Lillebonne has a rich archaeological past. I'd like to take you on a stroll through the streets of "Juliobona", the ancient Latin name for Lillebonne, the great trading city of the Gallo-Roman era.
