Caudebec-en-Caux marshes

It lies at the rear of the commune of Caudebec-en-Caux, almost in the heart of the town. The marsh is recognized for its ecological importance, as it has been identified as a natural area of ecological interest for flora and fauna.

Awakening Ecosystem

No doubt you’ll come across Camargue horses, and with a little more luck, a bloody cricket, a spotted salamander or a palmate newt. The fauna here is rich and so is the flora. Will you be able to recognize the marsh iris, the dysentery pulicaria or the sedge, plants that are legion in this small protected area between two rivers, the Ambion and the Saint-Gerdrude?

A path leads around the marsh. It starts at the wooden observatory. From here, you can obtain a wealth of information about the site. Along the way, numbered markers tell you more and more about the special features of the marsh.

Since 2021, an educational site has been set up at the northern end of the Caudebec-en-Caux marsh. This is a pond where it’s easy to observe aquatic life from a platform, without disturbing the animal or plant species that live there.
