Typical Clos Masure (traditional enclosed farmyard) of the Pays de Caux located in Bennetot, Vertot Manor House, along with its dovecote - both listed Historic Monuments - remains one of the most beautiful examples of 16th and 17th century Pays de Caux architecture, largely influenced by the Late Renaissance style that features the flint and pink brick checkerboard pattern and the beautiful mullioned openings.
Planted with 25 acres of apple trees, it was the birthplace of the Abbot of Vertot, a chronicler of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, also known as the Order of Malta, author of The History of the Knights of Malta in 1726, a monumental 7-volume account.
Dogs must be kept on lead within the grounds.
