Télhuet Valley Park

In Port-Jérôme-sur-Seine, there’s a lungful of green where Scottish oxen graze, where ponds invite meditation and where it’s good to stroll in contact with unspoilt nature. Welcome to the Télhuet Valley Park.

Family, friends, couples...

It’s a pleasure to stroll along these perfectly laid-out paths. With no major difficulties, the park is ideal for Sunday strolls. On hot summer days, you’ll also appreciate the shaded areas that follow one another along the four kilometers of marked paths.

You’ll stroll through orchards and water gardens, and come face-to-face with Scottish oxen, introduced to this little corner of Normandy between the Seine and the sea in 1997.

The walk is also designed to be educational, with kiosks available to visitors. Seventeen terminals will tell you everything you need to know about this enchanting place, as well as interactive tools to put the Télhuet valley in your pocket.

the remains

But that’s not all: a surprise awaits you as you approach the ponds.

On a small promontory lies the archeological site of Fontaine Saint-Denis. This former castle of the Counts of Évreux will charm you with its restored wall, medieval tower and belvedere overlooking the Télhuet valley, as well as its covered walkway with footbridge. Inside the enclosure, you’ll discover the remains of wooden barns and a 12th-century limestone chapel, and at the foot of the site, a former washhouse.
